Uninvited

Uninvited

The film is a public and private portrait of Marcelo Burlon, one of the most fascinating and influential personalities of the current fashion panorama, a figure at once loved and loathed.
A documentary which, through the life of a remarkably sincere and straightforward voice, manages to convey the fashion system in its complexity, and does so taking a completely different perspective from the standardized idea encompassing this world. Keeping away from the usual portrait of eccentric designers, UNINVITED – MARCELO BURLON relates the universe of fashion through a controversial and debated personality who seeks and finds authenticity in a field where apparently nothing seems to really be, a system undergoing impoverishment due to its inability to speak to the final user, the public, a forgotten voice in the aesthetic debate.

Marcelo Burlon is a controversial figure, many appreciate his genius and ability to grasp the zeitgeist and decline it in his creations, other despise him, defining him an impostor, a cunning and irrelevant creative director.
Born in Patagonia from Italian-Lebanese parents, Marcelo Burlon moved to Italy with his family in the 90s, enacting a genuine backward migration. In those years Marcelo experimented the most disparate experiences and began taking his first steps in the fashion world. Today his holding has a multi-million turnover which, in addition to his brand, produces other five. Thanks to a brilliant spirit and a surprising communicative ability, Marcelo asserted himself as the representative of a new generation of creative directors, a generation that perhaps shouldn’t be judged for its skill in making clothes but rather for the ability of giving the public a captivating story.
